Are you considering therapy for the first time as a woman in midlife? You might be wondering if therapy is right for you, how to find a therapist, or what to expect from your therapy sessions, among other things. 

There are all kinds of different types of therapy and it looks different for everyone, but this episode will help you understand the basics to get started. I figured there’s no one better to teach us about therapy than an actual therapist, so I invited Laura Reagan onto the show to help us out. 

In this episode of Midlife Rise + Thrive, Laura is covering different types of therapy and how to know which one is right for you, how to find a therapist who is a good fit for your needs, and how therapy can help you thrive as a woman in midlife on a journey of self-discovery. 

Laura Reagan, LCSW-C is an integrative trauma therapist, podcaster, speaker, and coach who owns a group psychotherapy practice in the greater Baltimore area. Laura also hosts the Therapy Chat and Trauma Chat podcasts and founded the Trauma Therapist Network in 2021. Laura trains trauma therapists around the world to use bottom-up therapy methods and access their highest selves while doing meaningful psychotherapy work for sustainable careers. She’s passionate about guiding trauma survivors to reconnect with their most empowered selves.
