10: Rethinking Age, Habits, and Self-Doubt with Dr. Amy Johnson

Rethinking Age, Habits, and Self-Doubt with Dr. Amy Johnson

Do you ever hear messages about aging that you absolutely hate?

As a society, we have all kinds of ideas about what it means to age, what you “should” do as you age, and what is age-appropriate, but all of these ideas are meaningless. What really matters is how you feel about your life.

In this episode, I’m joined by Dr. Amy Johnson to talk about how to get in touch with what you really want at any age and find lasting freedom from unwanted habits, anxiety, and self-doubt.

Get ready to rethink what you thought you knew about time and age, learn to listen to yourself, and shed external expectations for your life. This journey is all about you.

Amy Johnson, Ph.D., is a psychologist, coach, author, and speaker who shares a groundbreaking new approach that helps people find lasting freedom from unwanted habits, anxiety, and self-doubt via insight rather than willpower. She is the author of Being Human, The Little Book of Big Change: The No-Willpower Approach to Breaking Any Habit, and Just a Thought: A No-Willpower Approach to End Self-Doubt and Make Peace with Your Mind. In 2017 she opened The Little School of Big Change: an online school that has helped thousands of people find freedom from anxiety and habits and live a more peaceful life.

Topics We Cover in This Episode:

  • Shifting the thoughts that society has conditioned you to have
  • Challenging the idea that you’re supposed to do certain things at a certain age
  • How to be more open-minded
  • Why labels often don’t feel good
  • Getting in tune with your beliefs
  • Reflective questions to ask yourself
  • Living your life in a way that feels right to you
  • Choosing how you experience the world

I hope this episode encourages you to challenge the way the world wants you to think and instead listen to your own inner voice. Sometimes a shift in perspective is all it takes to totally change your path.
